Waste Oil Reclaiming UnitsGlycol Specialists Inc. has added a waste oil reclaiming unit to it antifreeze recycling equipment line. These units can be used in conjunction with our antifreeze recycling units or as a stand alone waste oil reclaiming oil. The principle of design is vacuum distillation of the water and light hydrocarbon liquids from the pre-filtered waste oil stream. This distillation process operates in a continuous mode and its designed for 16 hour unattended operation. Because the water from the process is very clean, we incorporate a packaged cooling tower for our condensing and cooling loads. This eliminates most if not all, of the water disposal problems associated with normal chemical water knock out problems. The light hydrocarbon stream removed from the overhead condenser accumulator vessel is removed to a separate tank for blending. Our unique circulating bottom tower system assures a water content in the recycled oil stream of less than 0.5%. The feed to product heat exchanger before the distillation tower makes the overall process the most efficient in the industry. The heat furnished to the tower reboiler is supplied by waste oil fired heater system using a heat transfer fluid operating at 300° F. This system can also be used for the heat source of the antifreeze concentrating unit, if supplied. The oil removal membranes of the antifreeze recycling unit can also be used to clean up oil water streams in addition to it duties of primary cleanup of used antifreeze. The stack emissions from the heater amount of the only permitted air emissions. Since most recycling operations have existing heat sources and emissions, no additional rates are required. These units are initially sized for 15,000 gallons per day and 30,000 gallons per day containing a nominal 15% emulsified water. Both unit sizes are contained on structural steel skids, approximately 8' w x 20' l x 25' h. All piping, electrical, and instrumentation within the skid limits is complete with only a single electrical connection required. Feed, product, and water piping have to be connected at skid edge to complete the hookup.
